A 2-bed terrace with an aging system boiler. The owners wanted modern reliability without losing the original cupboard.
Removed the old G-rated system boiler and hot water tank. Power-flushed the heating circuit, installed a magnetic filter, and fitted a new Ideal Logic Max combi behind the original cupboard door — flue routed cleanly, condensate run with frost protection.
Smart controls programmed, system commissioned, Benchmark book signed off and Gas Safe certificate issued. Whole job from rip-out to "tea on the new boiler" — one day.
Mended did the work of two engineers in a single day, and the cupboard looks like nothing ever happened.
A Victorian terrace in Wivenhoe, mid-renovation. The owners wanted a vertical anthracite radiator to replace a tired horizontal — without losing wall space behind a sofa.
We surveyed the existing pipework, dropped the floorboards in the bay window, and re-routed the heating circuit to feed a new vertical radiator beautifully framed against the sage green walls. Copper pipework brought up cleanly behind, no boxing needed.
Balanced the rest of the system, fitted matching anthracite TRVs throughout, and dosed the system with a corrosion inhibitor. Job tidy, floor reinstated, no traces of dust.
We've used three plumbers in this house. Mended is the only one we'll use again.
